Russia's National Wealth Fund down 55.3 bln rubles to 13.65 trln rubles in Sept, liquid assets 4.8% of GDP

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Russia's National Wealth Fund or NWF totaled 13.648 trillion rubles as of October 1 and was the equivalent of $140.106 billion, or 9.1% of forecast GDP for 2023, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.

The fund totaled about 13.703 trillion rubles as of September 1, the equivalent of $142.853 billion, or the same 9.1% of forecast GDP for 2023, meaning that it contracted by 55.3 billion rubles during September.

The NWF's liquid assets were the equivalent of 7.140 trillion rubles as of October 1, or $73.297 billion, or 4.8% of forecast GDP for 2023.

The amount of funds in euros on separate NWF accounts with the Bank of Russia fell to 4.071 billion euros from 5.224 billion euros. Accounts also held 279.774 billion yuan, 508.265 tonnes of unallocated gold and 396 million rubles.

The exchange rate difference on the balance of the fund's assets denominated in foreign currency was 1.263 trillion rubles and in gold it was 930.027 billion rubles; the difference on funds placed in Eurobonds of Ukraine was 81.232 billion rubles, and on securities of Russian issuers associated with self-sustaining infrastructure projects and denominated in foreign currency it was 55.486 billion rubles.
