Wildberries to build $140-mln logistics center in Uzbekistan

MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Wildberries has agreed to build a logistics hub in the Tashkent Region of Uzbekistan, the company said in a press release.

Zoyir Mirzayev, head of the Tashkent Region, and Rafael Abrahamian, Wildberries director of international development, have signed the corresponding memorandum of cooperation.

The logistics center is scheduled to open in 2025, at over 150,000 square meters, and Wildberries plans to invest around $140 million to construct the facility. On their part, the Tashkent authorities are allocating 29.4 hectares of land to implement the project.

The logistics center should create over 7,500 jobs, according to the press release.

Wildberries operates in eight countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan. The company boosted turnover 98% to 1.67 trillion rubles in 2022.
