Ukraine's Centrenergo repairs reserve units with nearly 700MW capacity
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian company Centrenergo has finalized repairs of three reserve units of its thermal power plants with a total capacity of 690MW, Ukrainian media said with the reference to the company website.
"The three additional units were put into operation after maintenance, which lasted from two to four mounts. Now the reserves can be connected to the Ukrainian power grid any time at the demand of a dispatcher," Centrenergo said.
This will increase the power grid capacity and resilience by additional 690MW, it said.
Both thermal power plants of the company, Zmiyevskaya and Tripolskaya, are operating normally, generating electricity consistent with the commercial schedule, and are providing the balance, the company said.
Centrenergo General Director Andrei Churkin said in August that the company was planning to operate eight units with a total capacity nearing 1.2GW in the fall and winter season of 2023-2024.
