Ukraine increases meat exports 10% over 9 months

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Ukraine increased meat exports 10% from January through September compared to the same period last year, Ukrainian media reported, citing the press service of the country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

"Ukraine has all the prerequisites for the effective development of the meat industry and the realization of export potential. Over the nine months of 2023, the growth in meat exports was over 10%," First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky said.

Ukrainian meat producers "maintained the basis for industry growth" in difficult conditions, allowing us to expect a 4% increase in pork production this year compared to 2022, he said.

The short-term forecast for 2024 shows the country is expected to stabilize production volumes of poultry and pork, the first deputy minister said.
