Europarl backs creation of Ukraine Facility to cover Ukraine's budget deficit- Ukrainian PM

MOSCOW. Oct 4 (Interfax) - The European Parliament has supported an initiative to create a new financial instrument for Ukraine, Ukraine Facility, amounting to 50 billion euros, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We expect to receive 18 billion euros as soon as next year. These funds will help finance the budget deficit, pay social benefits, pensions and salaries to doctors and teachers," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying.

The Ukrainian authorities have closely been working with the European Commission to carry out all necessary changes and transformations that open up access to the program, he said.
