Sunak calls for efforts to be made to support Ukrainian grain exports in phone call with G7, NATO leaders

LONDON. Oct 4 (Interfax) - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called for joint work to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain in a telephone call with the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) and NATO countries, the Office of the Prime Minister said.

The prime minister "stressed the need for countries to work together to get as much Ukrainian grain out of the country as possible," the Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement.

In addition, Sunak emphasized that London would continue to provide military, humanitarian and economic assistance to Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Earlier on Tuesday, journalists from the White House press corps said that U.S. President Joe Biden had a telephone call with U.S. allies and partners to coordinate aid for Ukraine.

According to the Associated Press, the leaders of Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, the UK and Poland, as well as French Foreign Minister Catherin Colonna, European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, took part in the call with Biden and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
