Yudaeva to leave Russian Central Bank board of directors

MOSCOW. Oct 3 (Interfax) - Ksenia Yudaeva, who on August 1 transferred from the position of first deputy governor of the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) to the position of adviser to the CBR governor, will leave the regulator's board of directors when her board appointment and authority expire on October 10, 2023.

The State Duma committee on financial markets plans on October 9 to consider the matter of appointing seven candidates to the CBR board, including reappointing current board members, according to the materials from the committee's meeting. Yudaeva is not included in the list of candidates for appointment to the board.

"We will not approve Yudaeva," Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma committee on financial markets, told Interfax.

Central Bank First Deputy Governor Vladimir Chistyukhin, Central Bank Deputy Governor Alexei Guznov, Central Bank head of the Service for Consumer Protection and Financial Inclusion Mikhail Mamuta, and former first deputy governor and current advisor to the CBR governor Alexei Simanovsky, whose respective appointments and authority are also set to expire in October 2023, have all been nominated for reappointment to a new term on the regulator's board of directors.

Moreover, three new candidates have been nominated for appointment to the CBR board, specifically, Elizaveta Danilova, director of the financial stability department; Rustem Mardanov, head of central administration for the Central Federal District; and Larisa Pavlova, head of central administration for Volga-Vyatka.

The State Duma appoints CBR board members to five-year terms based on nominations from the regulator's governor and approval of the Russian president.

The State Duma plans to appoint new members to the board of directors during its plenary meeting on October 12.

The next meeting of the CBR board on the key rate is scheduled for October 27.
