Roscosmos delegation to attend opening ceremony of Int'l Astronautical Congress in Baku

MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - A delegation of Russia's Roscosmos will take part in an exhibition on the sidelines of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2023), which opens in Baku on Monday, and Roscosmos General Director Yury Borisov will negotiate with colleagues from foreign space agencies.

"Russia will take part the congress' opening ceremony and exhibition," the Roscosmos press service said.

Borisov and heads of the leading space agencies in their discussions "will touch upon manned space programs, pollution of circumterrestrial space, development of satellite clusters and Earth remote sensing programs, responsible behavior in outer space, and training of space industry personnel," it said.

"The Russian delegation plans to have bilateral meetings with colleagues from foreign space agencies," the press service said.

Russia took no part in International Astronautical Congress 2022 in Paris, as most members of its delegation were denied visas. The Russian Foreign Ministry protested against that.

International Astronautical Congress 2023 takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan, on October 2-6 under the aegis of the International Astronautical Federation comprising representatives of the world's leading space agencies.
