Rights of Karabakh Armenians to be ensured consistent with int'l conventions - Aliyev

BAKU. Sept 29 (Interfax) - The rights of the Armenian population in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region will be fully ensured, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said.

"We will ensure the rights of the Armenian population in Karabakh. We have presented our vision of this matter, the reintegration and their rights," Aliyev said at the Second Azerbaijan National Urban Forum in Zangilan on Friday.

Everything related to the religious, cultural and other rights of Karabakh Armenians will be addressed consistent with international conventions, Aliyev said. "They [the issues] will be addressed in accordance with every convention which Azerbaijan is a party to, [and with] our constitution and our international obligations," he said.
