UK imposes sanctions on Russian Central Elections Commission, emergency situations minister

LONDON. Sept 29 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom has added the Russian Central Elections Commission, Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov and another nine individuals to the sanctions list, His Majesty's Treasury said in a statement.

According to the document, London has imposed restrictions on Central Elections Commission Secretary Natalia Budarina.

Restrictions will also apply to chairman of the Kherson regional government Andrei Alexeyenko, Donetsk People's Republic Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Yezhikov, deputy governor of the Zaporozhye region Viktor Yemelyanenko, Crimean Justice Minister Oleg Shapovalov, and some others.

The United States imposed sanctions on the Russian Central Elections Commission and its chairperson Ella Pamfilova in December 2022.
