Sberbank mulling possible buyout of shares from non-residents; no specific plans thus far - CEO

GORNO-ALTAISK. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Sberbank is analyzing the topic of a possible repurchase of its own shares from non-resident investors, though the lending institution currently has no specific plans in this regard.

"We do not have any specific plans yet. We are mulling the topic, though there are no plans yet," Sberbank CEO Herman Gref told Interfax on the sidelines of the Eco Altai. Thread of Nature forum.

Gref did not specify the current amount that non-residents own in Sberbank.

"I think that we will name the exact figure by the annual shareholders' meeting," Gref said.
