Second unit at Belarusian NPP brought up to full capacity for 15 days ahead of commercial launch

MINSK. Sept 29 (Interfax) - The second generating unit at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) has been brought up to full capacity as part of the final phase of pilot operation, the country's Energy Ministry reported.

"Comprehensive testing of the equipment of the second generating unit has begun at the Belarusian nuclear plant. The relevant permit was issued by [nuclear oversight agency] Gosatomnadzor yesterday. This is the concluding sub-stage of pilot operation of the second generating unit. It will operate continuously at nominal capacity - 100% - for 15 days," the ministry said.
