Russian, Azerbaijani FMs discuss situation around Karabakh, peace treaty between Baku, Yerevan

MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov have spoken by phone to discuss the situation in Karabakh and ways to implement the trilateral agreements.

"The sides have discussed the situation in Karabakh, including the provision of humanitarian assistance, respect for the rights and security of the local Armenian population. They looked at ways to implement the set of trilateral top-level agreements of 2020-2022 with regard to drafting a peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, delimitating the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, [and] unblocking transport communications," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

They also touched upon "a number of issues on the bilateral and regional agenda," it said.
