Transneft and KazTransOil sign agreement on transiting oil via Russia in 2024

MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - PJSC Transneft President Nikolai Tokarev and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed matters of interaction between Russia and Kazakhstan in the area of energy transportation during Tokarev's recent visit to Kazakhstan.

The two parties specifically broached the topic of the state and prospects of cooperating as part of the operations of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), Transneft reports.

"A wide range of topical issues on interaction with the Kazakh side were discussed, including cooperation as part of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and development of technological cooperation," according to the statement.

Upon conclusion of the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement on providing services to transit Kazakh oil via Russia in 2024, and signed an updated memorandum of cooperation between PJSC Transneft and JSC KazTransOil, the Russian oil pipeline operator clarifies.
