Russian Central Bank extends restrictions on non-residents from unfriendly countries transferring funds abroad

MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has extended for another six months the restrictions on non-residents from unfriendly countries transferring funds abroad from the accounts of brokers and trustees, the regulator said in a statement.

The CBR originally implemented the restrictions on April 1, 2022, and they were previously valid until October 1, 2023, applicable to transfers from the accounts of both individuals and legal entities opened with Russian brokers and trustees.

The CBR has taken the decision in order to maintain financial stability, the regulator notes.
