Ukraine receives $100 mln from World Bank under guarantee from UK

MOSCOW. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Ukraine on Monday received $100 million from the World Bank under guarantee from the UK, Ukrainian media reported, citing the country's Finance Ministry.

The funds will be used to partially compensate state budget expenses incurred to make pension payments for July 2023.

The funds are provided via the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE) project in Ukraine, which supports the country's government in providing essential public services, particularly in the areas of health, education and social protection.

Total financial assistance from the UK since February 2022 so far totals $1.6 billion, the Ministry of Finance said.

The ministry shows that, from the start of the year through September 21, external financing of the state budget reached $30.96 billion compared to $32.1 for all of 2022, and on September 22, another tranche of EU macro-financial assistance was received totaling 1.5 billion euros.

This year Ukraine expects total inflows from partners of over $42 billion to support the budget, and plans to attract the same amount next year.
