EAEU leaders to discuss deeper integration at St. Petersburg meeting in December - Mishustin

ASTANA. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states will meet in St. Petersburg in December to discuss deeper integration within the union, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"We discussed aspects of continuing integration with our colleagues at a Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Armenia in August, and they should be presented for approval to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting at the level of the heads of state in St. Petersburg in December this year," Mishustin said at a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Russia and Kazakhstan are bolstering cooperation in all areas, he said.

Next year will see the tenth anniversary since the treaty of the Eurasian Economic Union was signed in Astana, Mishustin said. He said he expected "our Kazakh friends to continue developing integration processes."

The discussion will continue at the level of the EAEU heads of government in Bishkek in the second half of October, he said.
