Situation at Zaporozhye NPP remains 'very fragile' - Grossi

BRUSSELS. Sept 25 (Interfax) - The situation at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) remains very fragile, but the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is continuing to work there, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said on Monday.

"We continue our daily work there as you can see through our almost daily updates of the situation at the [Zaporozhye Nuclear Power] Plant, which remain very, very fragile," Grossi said at the IAEA General Conference.

The IAEA safety and security experts stationed at the Zaporozhye NPP have undergone ten rotations over the past year, and the IAEA has sent 53 missions comprising over 100 specialists to all five major nuclear facilities in Ukraine, Grossi said.

"We continue there, we are not going anywhere, we will continue there," he said.
