Mishustin urges EAEU partners to pool resources to bolster technological sovereignty

ASTANA. Sept 25 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has urged Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) partners to pool resources and competences to bolster their technological sovereignty.

"Strengthening technological sovereignty is becoming a significant area of joint effort in the Eurasian space. It's important to pool resources and competences to ensure the resilience of manufacturing assets to external factors and to protect the economies and citizens of our countries amid growing global turbulence and competition," Mishustin said at a plenary session of Innoprom.Qazaqstan on Monday.

"Russia is open to broader cooperation with all partners in the Eurasian Economic Union, and of course, [with] Kazakhstan, relations with which are based on the principles of friendship, strategic cooperation and alliance," he said.

"Trade with Kazakhstan hit a record of almost two trillion rubles last year and continues to demonstrate an upward trend this year, growing more than 10% in the first seven months to over 1.5 trillion rubles," Mishustin said.

"The industrialization map of the Eurasian Union includes over 150 projects in 25 industries totaling more than 26 trillion rubles," he said.

Mishustin invited all participants in the Astana exhibition to visit Yekaterinburg next summer for Russia's Innoprom.

He said the EAEU partners were welcome to attend the Russia Expo due to take place in Moscow in early November.
