Ukrainian farming association asks for raising limit of 'affordable loans' to UAH 135 mln for sowing, harvesting campaigns

MOSCOW. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The lending limit for Ukrainian agrarians provided for by the Affordable Loans 5-7-9 government program should be raised to UAH 135 million for sowing and harvesting campaigns, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) said.

This amount was determined based on a survey of farmers in need of additional funds, Ukrainian media reported citing UCAB.

UCAB also mentioned amendments to the state program recently made by the government. In particular, processing enterprises and energy efficiency projects are currently entitled to interest compensation of up to 5%-7%-9%, and the lending term for investment purposes and the program limit have been increased similarly. The annual rate for investment purposes remains at the level of 5%-7%-9%, and that for financing working capital at 13%.
