AstraZeneca registers LLP in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. Sept 22 (Interfax) - AstraZeneca, a Sweden-UK biopharmaceutical company, has registered a limited liability partnership in Kazakhstan, the external communications department of AstraZeneca Russia and Eurasia said in a statement.

AstraZeneca opened its representative office in Kazakhstan in 2007, according to the statement.

"After the LLP has been granted legal status, AstraZeneca plans to expand its presence in the republic. (...) The registration of the legal entity will now provide an opportunity to accelerate business growth through direct participation in bidding processes conducted by the centralized distributor SK-Pharmacy LLP, and also to expand the retail sales channel through marketing, promotion and trade activities," according to the statement.

The company will have its own warehouse in Kazakhstan.
