Russian govt enacts export ban on motor fuel as of Sept 21; not applicable to intergovernmental agreements, EAEU countries according to balances

MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government has enacted a ban on exporting gasoline and diesel fuel as of September 21, the government's press service said in a statement.

Contrary to rumors on the market, the ban is applicable to all participants. However, there are exceptions for exports to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) according to indicative balances or protocols stipulated in intergovernmental agreements, and others.

The government's press service had previously said that the ban would be temporary. The government decree published subsequently does not indicate the end date for the measure, which enters into force "on the date that the resolution is published".
