Gazprom CEO discusses Moldova's energy security with Chisinau mayoral candidate
CHISINAU. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Gazprom CEO and executive board chairman Alexei Miller has met with Adrian Albu, a member of the opposition Socialist Party of Moldova and a candidate for mayor of Chisinau, Gazprom's press service said in a statement.
"We have discussed the energy security of Moldova, taking into account the primary interest of Moldovan consumers and the solvency of our citizens, as well as the country's economic entities," Albu posted on social media, commenting on the negotiations.
Albu said that Miller had assured that Gazprom was complying with the contract with Moldova and was open to supplying natural gas.
The Gazprom press release notes that the parties to the talks "have exchanged views on cooperation between Gazprom and Moldova in the gas sector and have agreed to continue contact."
