CIS Council of Justice Ministers to meet in Dushanbe on Sept 22

MINSK. Sept 18 (Interfax) - The Council of Justice Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members will hold a session in Tajikistan's capital Dushanbe on September 22, the CIS Executive Committee's press service said on Monday.

"On September 22, 2023, the 17th session of the Council of Justice Ministers of the CIS member states will be held in Dushanbe and chaired by Tajik Justice Minister Muzaffar Ashuriyon," the statement said.

The delegations of the Justice Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the CIS basic organization in the field of notarial activities will take part in the Council session, the press service said.

The draft agenda includes over ten issues, it said. "At the session, the Council members will discuss legal regulation of certain areas of activity of the Justice Ministries, and will sum up the results of joint work," the press service said.

In particular, the provision of free legal assistance to citizens, cooperation in the field of notarial activities, provision of public (administrative) services, as well as approaches to the optimization (inventory) of legal regulations of the CIS countries are expected to be discussed at the meeting.

Additionally, the meeting participants will adopt a plan of main activities of the Council of Justice Ministers for 2024, which outlines priority trends for further promotion of CIS legal cooperation.
