Russian courts hearing about ten lawsuits to return assets to state - presidential commissioner

MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - There are currently about ten lawsuits in Russian courts that have been filed by prosecutors against companies seeking to return various assets to the state, the presidential commissioner for entrepreneurs' rights, Boris Titov said.

"Today we're talking about approximately ten cases in the courts to return property to the state," Titov said in an interview with Interfax on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

He said his office is following such lawsuits, some of which have already raised legal issues. However, it is premature to talk about "de-privatization," Titov said.

"We're watching, observing. We have legal questions on a number of cases, but for now these lawsuits cannot be considered a systemic problem," Titov said, adding that in some cases the courts are taking the side of businesses.
