Chinese FM to attend security consultations in Moscow

BEIJING. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Moscow for another round of bilateral security consultations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said.

"Member of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee Political Bureau, Director of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee Wang Yi will visit Russia on September 18-21 at the invitation of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev for the 18th round of China-Russia strategic security consultations," the statement said.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said earlier that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would hold negotiations with Wang Yi on September 18 to address " a broad range of aspects of bilateral cooperation, including high- and summit-level contacts."

"The strengthening of cooperation on the world stage with emphasis on the joint work at the UN, BRICS, the SCO, the G-20, APEC and other forums will be highlighted," Zakharova said.

"There will also be a detailed exchange of views" on the Ukraine settlement process and the provision of stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region," she said.
