Ukraine wants to attract $42 bln from its international partners in 2024, the same level as in 2023

MOSCOW. Sept. 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government plans to attract $42 billion from its international partners in 2024, Ukrainian media reported, citing Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.

"This year we plan to attract $42 billion from partners, and next year the amount will be similar," Shmygal said on Friday at a press conference broadcast on YouTube.

In particular, $18 billion is expected from the European Union, as well as $1.1-1.2 billion in monthly support from the United States.

There is also an IMF program, and programs from Norway and Japan, he said.

"We have good prospects, but work like this is very difficult to implement. Our partners assured us of support as long as it is needed, within the parameters that Ukraine will need," he added.

The Prime Minister said that as of Friday, negotiations regarding the required amount of funds for next year are underway.

"I am optimistic that we will be supported and we will have a stable macro-financial budget situation," Shmygal said.
