World Skate admits Russian athletes to competitions

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - World Skate has allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to take part in its competitions as neutral participants, the federation's website said on Thursday.

Athletes' participation will be governed by special rules, which are set out in the Criteria for the Participation of Russian and Belarusian Athletes in World Skate Competitions, it said.

It is reported that athletes will be entitled to participate in competitions authorized by World Skate from January 1, 2024.

On March 28, the International Olympic Committee recommended that international federations allow Russians and Belarusians to compete, but on the condition that they do not support the special military operation and are not affiliated with military sports societies.

Skateboarding will be included in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for the second time in history.
