Owner of Russian McDonald's successor acquires Russian unit of Ingram Micro

KEMEROVO. Sept 14 (Interfax) - The owner of Russian McDonald's successor Vkusno i Tochka, Alexander Govor has acquired 100% of Moscow-based computer software developer IM Engineering Services LLC, data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities showed.

IM Engineering Service was previously owned by U.S. company Ingram Micro through Netherlands-based Ingram Micro Global Services B.V. and Ingram Micro Europe B.V.

Ingram Micro, a major international IT distributor, has not yet publicly announced its exit from the Russian business.

Ingram Micro is a private company owned by investment fund Platinum Equity, which paid China's HNA Technology more than $7 billion for the company in 2021. Ingram Micro had global sales of about $51 billion in 2022.

IM Engineering Services, which was registered in 2016, closed 2022 with a loss of 69 million rubles to Russian Accounting Standards on revenue of 1.06 billion rubles. In the period of 2018-2021, the company's RAS net profit ranged from 71 million to 162 million rubles and revenue ranged from 1.2 billion to 1.5 billion rubles.

Govor, a former regional McDonald's franchise owner, gained prominence last year when he bought the fast food giant's whole Russian business. The deal, announced in May 2022, was one of the first major exits from the Russian market by a foreign company over the Ukraine conflict.
