Russia's state expert review office approves two Polymetal mining projects

YEKATERINBURG. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Russian state expert review office Glavgosexpertiza has approved the project documentation and results of engineering surveys for open-pit mining of reserves at two hardrock gold deposits in Sverdlovsk Region, Maminskoye and Tamunyerskoye, the website of the Unified Registry of Government Decisions said.

Both deposits are owned by Polymetal , Russia's largest silver producer and one of the country's biggest gold miners.

JSC Maminskaya Mining Company received approval on September 12 for a project to mine the Maminskoye deposit, which is located 30 km from Kamensk-Uralsky, the registry said.

Mineral Resource LLC received approval on September 8 for a project to mine the Tamunyerskoye deposit, which is located 67 km from Ivdel.

It was reported earlier that Polymetal planned to start mining gold ore at Maminskoye by 2025 and process the ore at a flotation plant in Krasnoturinsk.
