Kim Jong Un invites Putin to visit N. Korea - media

HONG KONG. Sept 14 (Interfax) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit North Korea during their meeting on September 13, the Yonhap news agency said, citing the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Putin accepted Kim's invitation, as media said.

"At the end of the reception, Kim Jong Un kindly invited [Vladimir] Putin to visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea [DPRK] at a convenient time," KCNA said.

"Putin accepted the invitation with pleasure and reaffirmed his will to invariably carry forward the history and tradition of the friendship between Russia and the DPRK," it said.

Kim extended the invitation during a formal dinner with the Russian president on Wednesday following their meeting at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, it said.

As reported, the negotiations between the Russian and North Korean leaders continued for more than four hours on September 13. The two leaders communicated during a tour of the Vostochny Cosmodrome, in Russia's Amur region, and then held negotiations, first in the presence of the two countries' delegations and then one-on-one. After that, the Russian president hosted an official reception in honor of the North Korean guest.
