Ukraine's GTSOU completes repairs on trunk gas pipeline to Moldova

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Gas Transmission System Operator (GTSOU) has completed repairs on the trunk gas pipeline to Moldova that supplies natural gas to both Ukrainian and Moldovan consumers, Ukrainian media reported, citing the company's press service.

The repairs and restoration work on the pipeline were carried out following an earlier in-line inspection, the company said. The work involved quick-response repair crews, the Bogorodchansky, Zakarpatsky and Bibrsky line operations administrations and the nondestructive inspection laboratory.

The safety of the work was assured with a mobile nitrogen compressor station that the company acquired last year, the press service said, adding that this was the first time that the nitrogen station was used for repairs on such a long linear section of pipeline.

Natural gas shipments from Moldova to Ukraine totaled almost 170 million cubic meters in August, or 15% of all supplies from Europe.
