Delo Group plans to organize container hub in Astrakhan, launch sea route in Caspian

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 13 (Interfax) - The Delo group of companies is considering setting up a container hub in Astrakhan to launch a sea route in the Caspian Sea, Chairman of the Board of the group Sergei Shishkarev said at a briefing while attending the EEF-2023.

"We want to buy or get something already built or build a small container hub in Astrakhan ourselves. Then we want to build or buy a river-sea fleet, mixed vessels, and enter the central Caspian route," he said.

The group is considering the purchase of container ships on the secondary market; at the first stage, the size of the fleet could be four vessels, Shishkarev said.
