Ukrainian govt proposes increasing 2023 budget expenses by UAH 328.5 bln

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has proposed increasing this year's budget expenses by 328.5 billion hryvni, including additional allocations of 302.6 billion hryvni for security and defense, Ukrainian media said.

The allocations will come from an increase in domestic borrowings by 207.6 billion hryvni and external borrowings by 91.2 billion hryvni, including $3.3 billion from the United States, as well as a reduction in state budget expenditures by 11.4 billion hryvni and an increase in revenues by 26.1 billion hryvni, the Finance Ministry said.

The ministry reported plans to allot additional 211 billion hryvni to the Defense Ministry, 2.5 billion hryvni to the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Department, 79.2 billion hryvni to the Interior Ministry, 4.2 billion hryvni to the Security Service of Ukraine, 4.4 billion hryvni to the Strategic Industries Ministry, 0.6 billion hryvni to the State Special Communications Service's administration, 0.5 billion hryvni to the Foreign Intelligence Service, and 0.2 billion hryvni to the State Border Guard Service.

The rest of 19.9-billion-hryvni allocations include 16.5 billion hryvni for the Social Policy Ministry to support internally displaced persons.

The bill also envisages a budget program of the Energy Ministry to support fuel and energy companies with 350 million hryvni.
