Meeting between Putin, Kim Jong Un may take place in next few days, parties to discuss bilateral relations - Peskov

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the next few days and discuss bilateral relations with him, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"It may take place in the next few days," he said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin when asked when the meeting could take place.

The parties will discuss "bilateral relations in the first place," Peskov said.

"The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is our neighbor, and as with any neighbor we consider ourselves obliged to establish good mutually beneficial relations," he said.

Russian-North Korean talks in the format of delegations are planned as part of Kim's visit, and "if necessary" Putin and Kim will hold one-on-one talks, Peskov said.
