Gazprom starts project work on bridge from Belogorsk to Khabarovsk

MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Gazprom, as part of the gasification of the Jewish Autonomous Region, has begun preparations for the construction of the required infrastructure.

"Gazprom has begun design and survey work on a bridge between the Power of Siberia and Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipelines," Jewish Autonomous Region Governor Rostislav Goldstein said at a meeting hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin on implementation issues for development programs in Far Eastern cities.

Currently, the endpoint of the Unified Gas Supply System (UGSS) in the east is the village of Proskokovo, Kemerovo region; in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, a similar system has not yet been formed and gas pipelines are not connected to each other.

The prospect of connecting the Power of Siberia with the UGSS is part of the Power of Siberia 2 project, which should run from the fields of Western Siberia to the border with Mongolia. Further, in the east of the country, the construction of a bridge between the Power of Siberia and Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas pipelines (about 700 km) is under discussion.
