Contract for delivery of first Tu-214 aircraft to Aeroflot will be signed before end of 2023 - leasing company

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 11 (Interfax) - The contract for the delivery of domestically produced Tu-214 aircraft to Aeroflot will be signed before the end of 2023, Roman Pakhomov, general director of Avia Capital Service, a leasing structure of Rostec, told Interfax.

"Aeroflot is still finalizing the configuration, and the Tu-214 deal should also be signed in the near future. Before the end of the year for sure, but I think within a month - that is Aeroflot's agreement with the manufacturer. In this case, we act as a financial agent," he told Interfax on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2023).

Earlier at the forum on Monday, Aeroflot, its subsidiary Rossiya airlines and Avia Capital Service signed leasing agreements for 18 MS-21-310 and 34 SJ-100 aircraft. Meanwhile, in January the government approved the allocation of 175 billion rubles from the National Wealth Fund for the delivery of 63 airliners to Aeroflot from 2023-2025. In addition to the 34 SJ-100 and 18 MS-21, there are also 11 Tu-214 aircraft. The leasing company said earlier that the equipment would be provided on 18-year lease terms.

Based on a previously signed agreement with United Aircraft Corporation , Aeroflot should receive 210 MS-21, 89 SJ-100 and 40 Tu-214 by 2030. The cost of these subsequent firm contracts will exceed 1 trillion rubles, and they will be co-financed by the National Wealth Fund, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said.
