Ukrainian parliament head asks G7, EU to back Ukraine's energy system's sustainability in fall, winter

MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk has called on the G7 and European Union countries to be prepared to support the sustainability of Ukraine's energy system during this fall and winter season, Ukrainian media have reported.

"I am asking the G7 and European Union countries to be prepared to support Ukraine and the sustainability of our energy system. Above all, this is about power equipment. We also need special transport, tools, and materials. In particular, this includes electro-technical laboratories, fittings, cross-arms, reinforced concrete towers, satellite communications, reserve capacity, and fuel," Stefanchuk said at a session on energy security and international cooperation at a G7 parliamentary summit in Tokyo on Friday.
