DIY retailer Petrovich looking to open 16 mini-stores in Russia by Sept 2024

ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Petrovich, the chain of big-box DIY building materials stores, has opened its first small-format outlets in Vladimir and Mytishchi, the retailer's press service told Interfax.

In the future, these mini-stores will also open in Moscow, Tula, Ryazan and Yaroslavl. Petrovich plans to open 16 of these stores throughout Russia by September 2024.

The stores are laid out in a 100 sq. m. format, where goods for construction and repair can be purchased, and include a department which will issue goods ordered online.

"Previously, the company relied on large-format DIY retail outlets with an area of 15,000 sq. meters, with large retail areas and a developed warehouse infrastructures, as well as cooperation with regional DIY chains. All projects continue to operate and show results. Now we are opening stores in a new format for us, small retail areas. This solution will allow us to become more accessible to customers in all cities in Russia," Elizaveta Nazarova, director of marketplace development and partnership networks for Petrovich construction materials large-format centers told Interfax.

The Petrovich DIY chain was founded in 1995 and specializes in selling building materials to the public. The company owns a network of 20 shopping and construction centers in the Northwestern and Central Federal Districts (including St. Petersburg and Moscow), as well as facilities for the production of metal structures and dry building mixtures.
