Kazakhstan's parliament ratifies agreement with Turkey on simplifying customs procedures

ASTANA. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, at a plenary session on Thursday, ratified the agreement between Kazakhstan and Turkey on exchanging information and simplifying customs control procedures.

The parliament has adopted the law, which simplifies and optimizes customs procedures, and sent it to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for signature.

The agreement was signed in order to improve efficiency and expedite customs control through the electronic exchange of information on goods and vehicles between the countries.

The customs authorities of both parties will exchange preliminary information through the officials authorized to exchange info and initiate direct contacts. The customs authorities will begin to exchange information on a regular basis after developing technical conditions and successfully completing the pilot project.
