BAKU. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan is interested in importing 232,000 tonnes of fertilizers per year from Russia, a government source told Interfax.

"We are interested in importing about 232,000 tonnes of fertilizers from the Russian Federation per year, including 120,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, 60,000 tonnes of ammophos, and 45,000 tonnes of nitroammophoska. Russia said it was prepared to supply Azerbaijan with these volumes," the source said.

Statistics show that Azerbaijan imported 103,315 tonnes of mineral fertilizers in 2022, a drop of 20.5% compared to 2021, for $85.6 million, a 90% increase. Fertilizer imports from Russia are 70%-80% of all fertilizer imports into Azerbaijan, agriculture experts said.
