Borrowing plan for 2024 comparable with current year's, no precise figures yet - Russian MinFin

MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The volume of Russia's domestic sovereign borrowing in 2024 is likely to be comparable to the planned volumes of the current year, with specific parameters still being determined, Denis Mamonov, Director of the Finance Ministry's Department of State Debt and State Finances, told reporters.

"The budget process is now in full swing, I think public projections will appear by October. It is clear that the volume will be comparable, probably, with the current one. I can't announce specific figures, because the process is underway," he said.

The law on the budget for 2023-2025 envisages placement of government securities in Russian currency in 2024 in the amount of about 3.4 trillion rubles. This year's plan is 3.5 trillion rubles.
