VTB supervisory board updated in preparation of 2024-2026 development strategy

MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax) - The VTB supervisory board has renewed its management team in preparation for the implementation of its 2024-2026 development strategy, the bank said in a statement,

Dmitry Pyanov, Deputy President and Chairman of the VTB Management Board, has been confirmed as First Deputy Chairman. In his new capacity, he will oversee the financial, administrative and business functions of the bank and will be responsible for coordinating the integration of financial assets, including FC Otkritie Bank .

Anatoly Pechatnikov, who has been in charge of retail banking at VTB since 2018, has been replaced by Georgy Gorshkov as deputy chairman. Pechatnikov is finalizing his work at VTB to focus on his own projects. Furthermore, Alexey Lozovoy, who previously served as head of the legal department, was elected to the board. Personnel decisions regarding Gorshkov and Lozovoy will come into effect after their approval by the Central Bank.

"VTB's updated team will have to finalize the bank's development strategy for 2024 - 2026 and achieve its implementation," said Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government Executive Office, who heads VTB's supervisory board.

"VTB Group is preparing to launch a new strategy, the key elements of which will be the development of the retail segment and global infrastructure for international settlements. I believe that the renewed composition of the board will be able to successfully cope with the new tasks and continue VTB's integration into the new economy," CEO Andrey Kostin said about the staffing changes.

Georgy Gorshkov has been working at Pochta Bank (a joint project of VTB and Russian Post) since its foundation in 2016-2020. Prior to that, he served as First Deputy President and Chairman of the management board of Leto Bank, on the basis of which Pochta Bank was established, for four years. From 2007 to 2012, he served as a member of the management Board of VTB 24.

In May 2021, Gorshkov headed the insurance company "Puls" (formerly known as "Tyumen-Policy"), which was part of VTB Group, and a few months later acquired a 55% stake in it. In July of this year, he sold his stake in the company to Rosgosstrakh (part of VTB Group). It was reported that in January 2023, Gorshkov, as a representative of VTB, began working as an advisor to Rosgosstrakh CEO Maxim Shepelev.
