Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada discharges Umerov as State Property Fund head

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada voted on Tuesday in favor of relieving Rustem Umerov of his duties as head of the State Property Fund, Ukrainian media reported.

The relevant draft resolution was supported on the whole by 302 parliamentarians at a plenary session on Tuesday, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the Golos (Voice) parliamentary faction, said on Telegram.

"The parliament has supported Rustem Umerov's discharge as head of the State Property Fund by 302 votes. We expect a presidential proposal on appointing him defense minister of Ukraine today and the voting tomorrow," Zheleznyak said.

The Rada had appointed Umerov, a former parliamentarian belonging to the Golos faction, head of the State Property Fund on September 7, 2022.
