Timur Suleimenov confirmed as National Bank of Kazakhstan governor

MOSCOW. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree to confirm Timur Suleimenov as National Bank of Kazakhstan governor, Tokayev's press office said.

Suleimenov, 45, previously served as the minister of national economy and was a Eurasian Economic Commission minister for economy and financial policy. He had been first deputy head of the president's staff since 2022.

Tokayev signed a decree to relieve Galymzhan Pirmatov of his duties as National Bank governor and nominated Suleimenov to replace him on Friday. The Senate approved the nomination earlier on Monday.
