Kazakh president appoints new transport, trade ministers

ASTANA. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed the former industry and infrastructure development minister, Marat Karabayev, as transport minister, Tokayev's press office said.

Tokayev signed a decree on Friday to split the Industry and Infrastructure Development Ministry into two agencies, namely a Transport Ministry and Industry and Construction Ministry.

Arman Shakkaliyev, former deputy trade and integration minister, has been appointed trade and integration minister. He replaces Serik Zhumangarin, who was also deputy prime minister and who retains that post.
