Putin notes Russian-Uzbek partnership, alliance

MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has affirmed the successful development of Russian-Uzbek relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.

"Relations between our countries are successfully developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance. The interaction between Moscow and Tashkent within the CIS, SCO, the UN and other multilateral structures is bringing good results," Putin said in his message to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoev on Uzbekistan's Independence Day observed on September 1.

Putin expressed confidence that "through this consistent cooperation we will continue to gradually build up constructive bilateral ties in all spheres for the benefit of our friendly nations and in the interests of strengthening regional security and stability."

"The successes achieved by your country in economic and social development are well known. Uzbekistan enjoys well-deserved authority in the world arena and plays a significant role in addressing topical issues on the international agenda," he said.

He wished "robust health and success" to the Uzbek president and "peace and prosperity" to the people of Uzbekistan.
