Czech RSJ Investments seeking to build biomass boilers in Ukraine, to invest over 12 mln euros

MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Czech Republic-based RSJ Investments is considering investing over 12 million euros to construct biomass boiler facilities in Ukraine, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from the press service of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE).

"The Czech fund is considering the possibility of installing biomass boilers. The scale of the planned project is impressive at 80-MW total capacity of the boilers and total investments over 12 million euros. The ultimate goal is to ensure an uninterrupted supply of heat to Ukrainian hospitals and other institutions," according to the press release following the meeting of SAEE Chairperson Anna Zamazeeva with RSJ Investments representatives.

Zamazeeva noted that these projects for alternative fuel boilers are some of the most relevant solutions for the regions, rendering it possible to provide uninterrupted heat mainly to critical infrastructure facilities.

RSJ Investments invests in IT, sustainable agriculture, and renewable energy sources. RSJ has constructed and currently operates a straw-fired power plant in the Czech Republic. The fund also has two biomass boilers in Poland.
