Lavrov to lead Russia's delegation at G20 summit - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation at the upcoming G20 summit in India, where he is to speak at plenary sessions and have a number of bilateral meetings, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"On the Russian president's orders, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will lead our country's delegation at this top-level meeting," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"He plans to speak at two plenary sessions of the upcoming meeting," she said.

"The Russian foreign minister is expected to have a number of bilateral negotiations and contacts on the summit's sidelines," she said.

Russia intends "to present detailed views on the need to reform the system of global economic governance in light of the emerging polycentric world order and the redistribution of productive forces in favor of developing countries," she said.

"We will seek to secure balanced decisions on digital transformation, on reducing energy and food security risks, and on pursuing optimal ways for energy transitions," Zakharova said.

The summit will be held in Delhi on September 9-10.
