Ukrainian company Centrenergo preparing 8 power units with total capacity of almost 1.2 GW for operation this fall, winter
MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian company PJSC Centrenergo plans to engage eight power units with a total capacity of almost 1.2 GW this fall and winter, CEO Andrei Churkin said.
"Centrenergo expects to pass the 2023-2024 heating season with approximately the same capacity that was engaged last year. Now we can confidently talk about eight power units with a total capacity of 1,190 MW," he said in an interview with Ukrainian media.
Active repair work is underway "to confidently start the heating season," he said.
"We realize that it will not be easy for us. But we are doing everything possible to make it as painless as possible for the Ukrainians," Churkin said.
As reported, Centrenergo plans to import coal to pass through the autumn-winter period, Churkin said in an interview with Ukrainian reporters, noting that the company needs to reach a volume of at least 80,000 tonnes of coal per month.
